Program Note
Sound Clip

All the Time in the World, for synthesized and sampled sound, was completed in the summer of 2006. The initial inspiration for the work came from an advertisement for an exhibition of work by Bonnie Thornborough (reproduced below, by permission).

During the course of its composition, the work became something of a nostalgic vehicle. Snippets of sound are heard over a somewhat static background. The first section incorporates ocean sounds - I grew up in western Washington in close proximity to the Pacific ocean. While the middle section has sound perhaps more in line with my time on the east coast, the final section returns again to water - this time recalling the rain of my childhood environment.
